Trying to connect to my modded server in RAT

Hello I could use some help. I will try and be as descriptive as possible. I am running a modded 7dtd dedicated server on my second pc. I am using the 7dtd mod launcher to install the game and the mods. I have the server all set up and running with no problem. I access the program using the startdedicated.bat file; not an exe. (see picture below). I wanted to use RAT to manage my server more efficiently. I made the necessary changes in the serverconfig.xml file for the telnet. I also was able to match the config xml in RAT with no issue. The problem I am having is that the server log shows that it is not connecting to the ip of my computer. Am I supposed to use my local ip on that computer? It is a static ip that I set up for it. I confirmed that ports 8080 and 8081 are open per my PF utility. Also I didn't change the user data folder as I don't know exactly where that is being pointed too. Especially since I don't have a D drive on that computer. Any insight would be greatly appreciate.

quick update I got the telnet to connect but i get webtokens error.

It looks like I left in some test values for the User Data Folder. Remove anything in that box and leave it empty (Unless you've previous setup the user data folder, then use that folder).

That you are getting the error shown about webtokens, this means you probably don't have the mods required.

The mods you need are Allocs mod, and the default TFP mods. Some people have had an issue where those default TFP mods aren't installed. If so, make sure you run the validate when downloading the game server files. Without those mods, you can't do a lot.

thank you for your assistance. ok i tried to download them before but didn't fully understand how to download them from the site. I will check again. after i download them do i put them in the mods folder?.

i got his error from my internet security.

I can't tell what website you are attempting to go to. But Allocs is downloadable from within RAT with a single click. As far as the dedicated server goes, you can also update that through RAT, or however you normally do that.

apologies it was the link to Allocs. every time i clicked it my internet security flagged it. but if i can do it through the app as you say, then I will take a look there. Thank you

It might be self explanatory but I cannot seem to find, within the app, how to install allocs. Can you give me a little guidance please lol.

Also I do apologize for asking these questions as I don't want to lose my world. Do I install/ update server here (see img). The reason why I ask is I installed 7 mod launcher and I used that to install darkness falls. The install apparently automatically has the server install with it. So all i have to do is set the server config xml file and then startdedicated.bat. I did not use steamCMD. If I do the install/update will that cause a conflict?

I did the install/update and this was in the console and still getting the web tokens error. I think for the most part things are working?? I started this journey trying to make myself admin in my own server. using RAT was a recommendation and decided to try and use the app. Well I was able to do it within RAT just now. I gave myself admin privelages on the server with no issue. the RAT app seems very very useful and want to learn about it some more. For the most part it has helped me achieve the problem I had. I still don't know what the error webtokens is yet. Thank you for helping me get this far.

I'm glad you got it working this far. =) I can't help too much with full conversion mods like Darkness Falls as I haven't used them. However they should work fine with RAT (and have from what others have reported to me in the past). So basically as far as I know, DF updates core game files. So whenever the game updates, you have to wait for a DF update. RAT is generally up to date with the latest experimental versions of the base 7d2d game server. This means it might not be compatible with whatever version DF you have installed.

My point is, this could be part of the problem (at times, not always).

As for Allocs, it should be in the RAT settings, click the local server tab, and the the install/update tab on the left. There is a button there that says install Allocs. I'm not sure if it needs to be different for DF or not though. So it may or may not work, as I said you're doing things I haven't done before. =)

The webtokens are necessary for many of the RAT features to work. RAT uses this to communicate with the game server for a lot of its data. Webtokens are generated automatically by RAT once you have a telnet connection (and it seems you do). If you wait usually about 3-4 minutes, it should resolve itself. However from the look of the error messages above, it might be a problem. Possibly a DF/official server version again, etc. I'm not sure. But you'd probably have to clear up that webserver error first.

just wanted to show you that i got it working. I did a fresh install and then added the darkness falls mod in the mods folder and voila.
