Hello! I have been following Archeage A LOT on the official forums (I have not yet purchased a founders pack) and saw this thread and found myself intrigued. I have contemplated on several occasions to purchase the Archeum pack however I feel that it would not be worth it unless I found a pretty cool group of people to play with. While reading the thread I noticed how several members piped in with their own sense of humor and thought to myself that this might just what I was looking for :).

I am 23 years old, I have a family of my own and work Full-Time (My schedule being 7 - Days On before having 3-4 Days Off, 2:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. Eastern time.) This being said, I would be able to play a moderate amount, most likely later on at night and was wondering how active the guild is after 11:00 P.M. Eastern or so. I enjoy a mix of everything, but am really interested in PvP, PvE, and anything to do with the ships in this game (They look really cool).

I have a built in mic and a wireless headset and am willing to communicate on TS3 (Although it is not currently installed, its been awhile since I've used teamspeak.)

Do you have any goals you're working towards as a whole in ArcheAge?

But besides that, I am here not only to ask about your guild but ask about your opinions of the game and to share your overall opinions of the game. Was the Archeum pack worth it? Would any of you advise AGAINST purchasing the archeum pack this late in the game since the closed beta test is now here (I understand that after a closed beta event ends the only people who will get to play are those who have bought this founders pack.)

I think that's all I've got for now, gonna contemplate this game while I eagerly wait for a reply.
 
Hey there Cgibb! I'll do my best to attempt to answer your questions, just keep in mind that this is all my personal opinion. ;)

First, we're all pretty awesome. So you should join because everyone wants to be part of the cool kids. ;) Seriously though, I think we have a pretty good group here and I do my best to make sure it stays that way.

It sounds like your playtimes are pretty good with many of us, being we have a lot of people (myself included) that are PST, that's pretty much our normal playtimes (5pm until 10pmISH PST).

As far as PvP/PvE, we're a good mix of both really. Right now there isn't a massive focus on PvP in the sense of large scale wars, etc. But we run around and go to the other continent and cause trouble, do trade runs, etc. =)

Guild goals right now are a bit thin. This is mostly due to the 1.2 patch changing everything. However, the primary goal (for the guild) at launch is to get a nice sized house for the guild to put all the regal crafting stations. Beyond that, we'll probably want to work towards clipper ships for everyone and then larger ships. Things will change a bit as things progress and the economy changes and things need to be done though.

My overall opinion of the game is that it's pretty awesome. I've playing MMOs since MMOs first came into existence and this is the first one to hold my attention and desire to play since UO. Since there is no specific release date for the game, it's a bit iffy on whether or not 150 bucks is worth it at the moment. Personally, I'd say yes, do it. You'll be able to continue playing when the beta servers aren't up, etc. If money is tight and you're on the fence, then I don't have a good answer for you. If you have the extra cash to spend, then yes, I'd probably pick it up now and just have to be okay with the decision if the game launches in a month or something.
 
So, I decided to go ahead and purchase the Archeum pack. I want to play MORE than just during the beta. Which server will you guys be on? (I thought I read somewhere that you'd be playing on the beta server to help newcomers learn the game.) I'll be sure to fill out an application once I know what I'll be naming my character.

Welcome Cgibb. We'll likely be playing on both servers, but this first beta event starting tomorrow (Thursday - Monday) I think most of us will be on the US beta server. We want to test out some of the beginning parts of the game as a lot of changes have been made since the last time a lot of us went through the early stages. If you prefer to play the Alpha only, I'm sure we'll have members continuing to play that full time so we'll get you invited no matter which server you choose.

The first thing you'll want to do is fill out an application here. Then the best way to get an in-game guild invite is to jump into our TeamSpeak server (you'll get instructions to this once the application process is complete). If you're unable to be in TeamSpeak, we'll keep an eye out for you to get you invited. See you in game.

I will probably play on the beta server at first to get a feel for the game. I don't mind starting a new character on the alpha once beta is over. Downloaded the game (took like a hour and a half) but copying it over to the beta folder so I don't download it twice. (Read somewhere that this works..we'll see lol)
