I'm new to this server stuff so please forgive my dumb questions. LOL

I set up the server and it says its running but how do I start a new game on this new server?

If you're running the game server on the same machine you want to play from, in Steam click View at the top, then Servers, then the LAN tab. Select your server, then click Connect.

You should also be able to see it in the server browser in game. If not, do a direct IP connection to it by typing in the IPadddress and port in the bottom of the server browser window.

This is kind of on the subject. I have a dedicated server which I ran RAT with 16.4 (Furtive Sage Gaming). It has been a great tool. I know with the new A17 release the serverconfig.xml has been revamped. Can Rat still be used. I was having difficulty launching the server through Rat as there are new features in the .xml. Is it possible there will be a tweak to the server tool?

To Trekkan's point, if the server isn't on the same machine you may have to forward port 26900 in your router / windows firewall being local or if it is hosted you should be able to connect with the default port.

Sorry about getting off topic a bit..

I'm working on an A17 update to RAT now. If you want to continue to use the current version of RAT, you need to download the latest BCM (3.0 alpha), and also (and very importantly), make sure you go into the RAT Settings, and disable RAT changing your serverconfig.xml file. Otherwise, RAT will use A16 settings and your world might not load up.
