Character missing after server rebuild

I re-installed RAT and restored a database backup. Server runs fine AND I connect just fine. However, my account is no longer my old character. How do I make sure my old character (with all levels, etc...) comes back?

you need to have a back up of the player files that are in the savedata folder
then you can restore any toon you like

I have that too. How would I make sure to restore my character? I feel like I messed something up.

i would of guessed at least the Player folder an players.xml

Yep, I have those all backed up and in the the right place. I see players in there from before. But still when I load in, I'm a brand new player. Feels like it's not matching up with my computer or steam account or IP or whatever. IDK.

had you done anything on your client like a reinstall or swapping files around?

not on the client, no. However, I did connect to the server from a different computer. So, maybe that broke something?
