This is in reference to the bug report here: [Completed] - Dead is dead

I'm using version 0.2.04.0 HOTFIX of 7D2D RAT with Alpha 18 7DTD on a local windows server.
Attempting to use the 'Dead is Dead' option.
I was able to work around the save game location issue by manually creating a directory junction (mklink /J in command prompt) to the savegame files.
It looks like RAT successfully kicks the player, and moves the player files to the "did_backup" folder each time the player dies.
However, it appears that it only fully 'removes' the player's data "every other" death.

testing example:
#1. Player logs in the first time. Does the intro tutorial quests, get's eaten by a zombie and dies. Player respawns. Then it takes about 1 minute but eventually then they are kicked.
#2. Player logs in the second time (without changing their profile). Acts like it is the first time they've ever connected. It prompts them to do the tutorial quests again, starting gear, etc. Player dies, respawns somewhere, after a short delay, they get kicked. OK, working fine.
#3. Player logs in the third time. This time they join without any of the starting items, and the tutorial quest is back on the step they died on (or completed if they did it all). And they even have their initial skill points if they completed the tutorial. If they die here, it kicks them after a delay like normal.
#4. Player logs in the fourth time. They are reset back to level 1, intro items, intro quests, etc. Working the way it should.

Tried this with multiple players, each experiences this behavior.

Thus the problem is step #3 above. It seems like it has just registered their death (with dropping items) and their respawn but didnt fully delete/remove their player files. But I can watch the server and the files getting created and moved properly.

Does 7DTD store the player info somewhere else besides the player files and it's holding onto it somehow?

Trekkan stated that the feature would probably be removed in future versions of RAT, but I wanted to get some clarification or insight anyways. The Dead is Dead mode is something my group is interested in playing, but appears to be unreliable via 7DTD RAT

just did some testing an an asked Trekkan to look into some bits about it that may fix that problem :)
