Let me start by saying so far since I have started using RAT I love it!

At the moment on my remote server I do manual backups of the entire file tree and save location in case of massive crash, etc. I try to do this at least once a day so I'm not to far behind in the event of a hard crash.

I see that RAT has some type of provision for backing up the server. Is this for a local only server on the machine RAT is running on?

I don't see anything about backup unless I'm in the local tab. Maybe I'm just missing something.

Thanks for an awesome piece of software!

Thanks for using RAT, I'm glad you are enjoying it! =)

As for the backups, they are for local only. RAT needs access to the file system in order to do a backup, which it doesn't have in the case of a remote connection. I do have it on the list to work on an FTP backup so remotes can backup as well, but I'm not sure when that might happen.

Until that time, I'd recommend using an FTP program with a schedule in it. That way it'll automatically backup for you.

Thanks for using RAT!
